10/15/18: DG Laquita Stribling

For more than two decades, Laquita Stribling worked her way up from entry-level associate to senior vice president at Randstad USA. Laquita is now responsible for four districts and nine offices across three states, approximately 1,300 employees and nearly $40 million in revenue. In addition to her impressive career, Laquita has been extremely influential in her community. Her passion to give her time to community service is driven by the scripture: “To whom much is given, much is required.”

Laquita pays it forward every day. She sees the work she does at Randstad to be a ministry. It’s very rewarding to help people find jobs and advance their careers and help companies find the right employees to run their businesses.

In July 2018, Laquita was installed as the District Governor for Rotary International District
6760. She is the first African-American to hold this position. As president of the Rotary Club
of Nashville (2014-2015), Laquita led the effort to raise a record $300,000 to fund local
community projects. She also spearheaded the creation of a strategic plan to intentionally
and proactively seek and attract more women, people of color, younger people, and
individuals from more varied industries. In a time when most clubs’ memberships were
declining, the Rotary Club of Nashville’s membership saw net growth, and became a more
diverse and inclusive organization. During her tenure, she also established a Rotaract Club at Fisk University to engage students in leadership and service.

Laquita serves on the board of directors for the Nashville Sports Council, CABLE (and the 2018 Power of Inclusion Chair), Middle Tennessee Boy Scouts of America, Second Harvest Food Bank, Nashville State Community College, Mt. Zion Baptist Church. In addition, Laquita volunteers for the Nashville Area Chamber of Commerce on the Education Report Card Committee. Previously, Laquita has served on the board of directors and as treasurer for Tennessee Staffing Association, as professional development chairwoman for the Middle Tennessee Society for Human Resources Management, as an agency monitor for United Way, and on the board of directors for the Rotary Club of Nashville. She has also served on several committees with the Nashville Area Chamber of Commerce. Laquita was also inducted into

the first class of the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff Sports Hall of Fame where she was a 9 Time All American Sprinter. Laquita is a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.

A native of Marianna, Arkansas, Laquita earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff. She continued her education at the University of Memphis, where she obtained her Master of Public Administration degree with a concentration in human resources. She is currently enrolled at Trevecca Nazarene University, where she expects to earn her doctorate in Leadership and Professional Practices in December.

Laquita is married to Finis Stribling III, and they have three sons: Finis IV, Kylan and Tre’.
