11/20/17: Mayor Megan Barry

Mayor Megan Barry will talk about her transit plan, Let’s Move Nashville, and the impact it will have by creating transportation independence for Nashville residents and visitors while expanding access, increasing opportunity and reducing sprawl. With the Nashville region anticipating 1 million new residents in the next 25 years, the Mayor will discuss how this investment in our future will allow the city to manage its growth. Mayor Barry also will address some of the myths about transit as she makes the case for approving dedicated funding for light rail, expanded bus service and other transportation infrastructure in a May 1 referendum.

Megan Barry is the seventh Mayor of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County. Prior to her election, she had a successful career as an ethics and compliance officer in the telecommunications and health care sectors and was a two-term at-large Metro Councilwoman. She first moved to Nashville to attend Vanderbilt University’s Owen Graduate School of Management, where she earned her MBA.
