4/23/18: Philip Hardin, CEO, YouScience

Every business is looking outside their community for talent to fill key roles. The reality is, the talent exists right in our backyard. While there may be a skills gap, there is no shortage of talent. Learn how Nashville based company YouScience is helping identify talent in our K-12 system through data-based ‘brain games’ that capture real measures of natural abilities, and is working with schools and employers to direct that talent into high-demand careers in our community.

Philip Hardin is CEO of YouScience, a one-of-a-kind career discovery profile designed to help students better understand their natural abilities, broaden awareness of career opportunities, and make more informed decisions about their individual pathway from education to career.

Prior to helping found YouScience, Mr. Hardin helped transform a small technology firm called ActaMed into the nation’s largest financial and administrative information exchange company: Change Healthcare.

Throughout his 17-year tenure at the company, which has previously operated under the name WebMD Corp and Emdeon, Inc., Mr. Hardin spearheaded product and business development efforts. He led the company’s $500 million provider business segment, and played an integral role in the company’s growth from startup to a company with more than $1.3 billion in revenue.

Mr. Hardin holds a Bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Georgia and a Master’s in Business Administration from Stanford University, where he specialized in technology management as an RJ Miller scholar. Mr. Hardin and his wife Adele have been married for 25 years.  They have four children.
