6/25/18: Mark Deutschmann, Founder/CEO of VILLAGE & Core Development

Mark Deutschmann, an entrepreneur community builder, neighborhood champion and author of “One-Mile Radius – Building Community from the Core”, will share how during his 30-plus years of working with city leaders, neighborhood groups and nonprofits to activate Nashville neighborhoods, connect them and help them become sustainable. He’ll also talk about using business as a tool for positive social change and share his one-mile radius strategy.

Mark Deutschmann is the founder/CEO of VILLAGE, Core Development and the Village Fund, the nonprofit and charitable arm of Village Real Estate Services that has provided almost $2 million in grants to organizations helping to enrich and strengthen our neighborhoods.

Mark is chair of the Urban Land Institute Nashville and recently stepped down after 6.5 years as president of Greenways for Nashville. He also served on the Mayor’s Transit and Affordability Task Force. The Go Green program Deutschmann developed inspired Nashville’s Home Energy Savings program, which improves energy efficiency and reduces utility and home maintenance costs so seniors and low-income families can continue living in their neighborhoods.

He holds undergraduate degrees in zoology and Spanish and an MBA in international management.
