5/22/17: “A 12 Minute History of American Music”

Henry Hicks is the President & CEO of National Museum of African American Music (NMAAM) which held its groundbreaking for its location at Fifth & Broadway this past April.  Henry will give an overview of the $48mm project and showcase the vision for the 56,000 sq. ft. experiential museum, which is set to open in 2019.

Henry has served as the President & CEO of NMAAM since the fall of 2013.  His professional experiences have included work in both the private, public and non-profit sectors where he has focused on building enterprises as a consultant, banker, investor and operating executive.  Henry is also a partner in Gray Line of Tennessee and was previously an operating principal with Onyx Capital Ventures, where he achieved top-line growth of more than 25% for portfolio companies.  In addition, he was formerly an investment banker with Bank of America in Charlotte, NC as appointed in 1998 to be a White House Fellow by President William Clinton.
