Partner Spotlight: Nashville Public Education Foundation
The Book Nooks program started through the Nashville Public Education Foundation with a grant from the NRST. The grant provided full classroom libraries to every classroom in two elementary schools totaling over 6,000 books. The schools receiving books were Hattie Cotton Elementary and Rosebank Elementary, which are both schools serving a majority of students who are economically disadvantaged, and in which many classrooms had few to no books. Now, each classroom enjoys a full library with nearly 300 books each. Dozens of Rotarians helped place stickers inside each book marking the donation and helped package them for delivery to schools.
